Branko Kosteski and Ana Jakimska, co-founders of Suteren

We met at film school, where the question was never only how to film, but why — why does one story move people, while another is simply forgotten. That question has shaped how we work ever since.

A student freelance project brought us together on real work for the first time. Word of mouth spread and the work kept coming. By 2018, Suteren was official, and over the following years we grew into a trusted production partner for Macedonia's leading agencies and brands. All the while, we continued making our own films.

Along the way, we noticed a pattern. Good production could only take a client so far. The conversations we kept having pointed to the same gap: our clients needed a partner who could plan with them before production begins, and stay involved through to distribution. That's why we reshaped Suteren into a full-service video agency.

Ana had just returned to Skopje from London, where she completed an MFA in Directing Fiction at Goldsmiths, University of London. Branko had spent the year deepening his practice in post-production, with a focus on colour grading. For both, client work and personal filmmaking had been growing in parallel for years. The midpoint between the two is Suteren: a full-service video agency led by filmmakers.

If you have a project in mind, or an idea that is not quite a project yet, we would love to hear about it.
